I played AOE2 5 years ago. I love AOE3 but i looking to play AOE2 again, and is hard to get to me because i play AOE3 xd.
AOE3 is less frustrating, and AOE2 is more "systematic gameplay". Example:
Create "X" numbers of workers, the worker 1,2 and 3 to food, the 4 build house, the 5 and 6 wood, the 7 food bush the 8 and 9 fish, etc... the start is so frustating, i need speed to play and memorize all actions, is just speed play to build fast gather fast, etc. So, i don't like play like a crazy, i need a space to relax when playing, and AOE3 have this, i only need push over the map when the game start, obtain animals to hunter, wood, and mines, conquest the map to have a ventage over the oponent, and i just move the explorer around the map and place workers on resources, and depending of the civ age up with 13-17 workers, send some cards and in the colonial age build some barracks or stables and start the military stage, without complex systematic plays with time... some players have memorized every step with the moment of the music of AOE2 .-. and i HATE repeat exactly the same thing on every game.
I can play AOE3 without memorize every step of a strategy, i can improve, but in AOE2 no, in AOE2 every start is same... explorer > sheep > food bush > pig > deer > mill
And the presition and speed is needed to execute all the actions correctly to gain adventage.
I play LAN with a friend 2vs2(AI), i age up with 14 workers on food and 13 on wood, when i start on 2nd age i build a barrack and archery, when i produce one soldier the AI attack with around 20 soldiers .-. (In moderate) and i play fast.
How play AOE2 correctly and how convert AOE2 in a less frustating game or how get in AOE2? xd
I prefer different strategies (AOE3) over skill on the hands and memoriced steps to play (AOE2) but i need play AOE2
Sorry the bad english, thanks.
