So Magyar UT Mercenaries is a pretty meaningless tech since it could easily be replaced with Magyar Huszar being gold free from the beginning. Trash Huszars from beginning would free the tech for more interesting use.
So heres an alternative. Since Karambits opened the pandoras box for non integer population I suggest that mercenaries should make Stable units or just Scout-line take up -20% (0.8) population space. Meaning that Magyars could field 25% more Cavalry than other civs.
It would fit the name better and it would also be an unique and useful tech. It would also fit the mass cavalry of Magyars perfectly. I don't think it would be OP if it just affected Hussars, but I am not sure about Paladins. I know Magyars don't need a buff but IMO UTs should be more useful.
What do you think about this idea?
