How much of a setback is not being able to play at a high resolution?

I bought Aoe2HD off steam last night after spending years lurking on twitch channels. The main difference I noticed is my screen is much more zoomed in than streamers I watch.

I guess the highest resolution I can run the game on is 1366x768. I don't know anything about technology, but I've spent an hour looking up ways to increase the resolution (if those are the right terms? I'm trying to 'zoom out' of the game so I can see more of the map at once). I've found that I won't be able to, unless someone knows how? : AMD Radeon/Windows 10.

Obviously competitive isn't something I'm looking towards anytime soon. My question is do most people on voobly have the advantage of seeing more of the map? I'm asking because I would consider saving for a monitor if I found other uses for it as well.
