Screen resolution for Windows 10

Forgive me in advance if this is a stupid question but what is the best resolution for playing AOM on a windows 10 machine? I have been playing it for the past year with no issues and then over the last few days the game is stuttering, I think due to a frame rate issue. The resolution is also messed up as the unclaimed town centers look like white dots. When I changed the resolution, I get a message from Windows asking if I want it to fix "blurry apps" I have no idea what the hell they are talking about.
