Obviously, with any competitive game the answer isn't going to be a hard and fast rule, but will depend on the specifics of the situation. But for a total novice, what's a decent guideline to follow as I learn the basics of the game? I assume that when I'm pushing to a specific strategy, like an archer rush or fast castle, that it's going to be inefficient to pick them up before I hit those early timings. But I imagine that you don't want to put them off too long either, so my current strategy is just to pick them up whenever I feel like I have "breathing" room in the castle age.
The upgrades I'm referring to are ones like
- Wheelbarrow, Handcart at the Town Center
- Double bit Axe and etc at lumber camp (and similar upgrades at the gold mine)
- Horse collar and etc at the Mill
as I imagine the answer might be different for each. Is there ever a reason to get these before you've settled into some sort of boom in the castle age? Should any of these be skipped entirely?
