I made a post recently asking if there were any RP/Diplomacy groups out there anymore and it seemed that the answer was no, so I started a group with a new friend of mine and we have begun to plan out a grand RP/strategy using AOE as a medium!
This groups is going to be a hub for diplomacy style multiplayer games and RP based around a shared worldspace we are creating. The Diplomacy games will simply be more relaxed games where the object isnt to kill the boars quickly and pump out as many units as you can to bumrush your enemy. No, instead the games will be cooled down, more easy-going about things. Now instead of having to worry about being annihilated if you don't do everything perfect, you can simply take a deep breathe and relax.
Now, this also means that games can potentially be boring. Well, let me squash those pathetic thoughts for the battles in our RP games are now far more epic and grand on every scale. Battles are not fought to win, but instead to create a moment in AOE that you won't soon forget. City sieges are encouraged to be full on battles with hundreds of infantry per side and only a handful of siege weapons so that battles are more grand and the memory of having your 300 man army either win or lose is something no normal game will have.
