Is there a way to select military units but exclude trebuchets?

When I select my army it selects all units including trebs. The problem with this is that it disables the hotkeys for patrol and attack move. Is there a way to select units but exclude trebs? Alternatively, is there a way to still issue patrol/attack commands even if I have trebs selected?
