Camel Archers or Cav Archers?

I was in a 1v1 random civ Arabia game (~1150 elo) the other day where I got Berbers and my opponent got Mayans. I don't normally use Berbers and am not very familiar with their strengths/weaknesses other than that they are a Cav civ (honestly I thought they were cav/elephant before the game started and I checked the tech tree). So I'm no expert... Anyway, in mid Castle Age, my opponent was producing a lot of Plumed Archers and Pikes and I was doing mostly Genitours and a few cav.

I had a castle on his flank and I wanted to pressure his main woodline which was housewalled. In the heat of the moment for some reason I saw Camel Archers and thought "Oh right, these counter other Archers, and can kite away from Pikes, perfect!" I later realized that made no sense and they only counter other Cav Archers, but by that point I had produced ~20 Elite Camel Archers out of both castles and had been raiding eco and harassing Pikes with them.

I ended up winning the game, but am still not sure if I did the right thing in making Camel Archers, or if I would have been better setting up a few Ranges and going Cav Archer. I know Berbers aren't a good CA civ overall, that's not my question.

My question is just - are Berber Camel Archers broadly better than Berber Cav Archers against non-CA units? Their stats are really similar, but Camel Archers seem to be better in every way except for lacking the bonus against Pikes. Am I missing anything?
