So since my Internet has been unstable as hell lately, I have been playing the differet AI's on Voobly and HD in various configurations a lot and noticed something with the default HD AI. This also concerns various Tutorials and Tipps I gave to beginner players.
In some games, the HD AI just straight up doesnt do any spearmen in feudal age whatsoever in others it goes totally nuts and makes 10 regardless of enemy units. I have no idea how the behaviour is determined. Since I usually advise new players to go for Scouts into archers into xbows or fc knights or scouts into knights when practising vs AI from moderate upwards, the sucess of my "apprentices" often highly depends on which spearmen behaviour the AI applies. With little to no micro the beginners lose all their scouts or knights easily to mass spears. So, they ask how the AI doenst spam spearmen in my tutorial video, but goes crazy when they play, even when its just on moderate. I checked some of their replays to confirm that and also ran several all visible matches doing nothing to screen the AI. I just cant figure out how it decides to go for tons of spearmen or ignore them.
Did anyone else observe that?
