I still can´t counte longbows

First of all, I am a noob so apologize noob explanation and stupid questions. So I play against my mate and he always goes longbows.. He just attacks me defence over range and whenever I send my paladins or huskarls, he goes back into his own base. When I place catapults and they take a time to aim, he just walks a bit to the right and none of my catapults hit them. One shot wave of each of my catapults and they are gone. Thos smaller catapults with the "shotgun stone throw" shot, they barely come in range an they are gone. He places his wall and his base very near to mine, so he just can destroy my base and to back, whenever I engage. Also I really don´t know how to rush early.He always places his wall very early and when I try to destroy the wall, he just defs with artillery. Hopefully someone can help me.. Thanks
