Has Definitive Edition AI been tweaked in Updates?

Hi. A long time fan of Age of Empires series and I used to enjoy Age of Empires 2 on moderate difficulty settings. But then I played the Definitive Edition on Standard difficulty and the AI was nasty. From the game user reviews I read, it seems to be a common issue with the AI coming at you guns blazing at the very beginning of the game. I don't know the game version I had played (it was mid last year) but it seems there have been Updates/patches to the game since. Have they made any changes to the AI? I was thinking of buying the game now, but if the AI has remained the same, I probably won't. Any improvements to the AI with the updates/patches?
