Here are some possible changes I want to see in the upcoming patches of AoE2, this is a possible rebalance to the game in my humble opinion
AZTECS
- Free Squires (for the immediate infantry speed rush once advancing, cause why not :P)
BERBERS
- Stable Units 10% cheaper in Feudal Age (even if it just scouts, a scout rush could be handy)
BRITONS
- need to be renamed as "Archer Civilization"
- adding Redemption (Archers generally take a long time to destroy buildings, might as well use monks to convert it just in case)
BURMESE
- need to be renamed as "Cavalry & Monk Civilization"
- Plate Barding armor upgrade free (makes up for missing the 2 archer armor techs and saves resources to create more Battle Elephants & Arambais)
BYZANTINES
- Town Patrol is 50% Cheaper (Town Watch is free afterall)
CELTS
- need to be renamed as "Infantry & Siege Civilization"
- access to Crop Rotation (for better Woad Raider production)
- access to Block Printing (for the classic Monk & Siege rush)
CHINESE
- need to be renamed as "Defensive Civilization"
- access to all Gunpowder Units + Block Printing (they invented it ffs)
- a bonus which increases the melee & pierce armor of gunpowder units by 1 (gives those units a defensive edge)
- removing Heavy Camel & Champion (with all those additions above, something has to be removed)
ETHIOPIANS
- need to be renamed as "Archer & Siege Civilization"
- advancing to next age gives +100 Wood & Stone instead of Food & Gold (advancing costs Food & Gold so it makes no sense to recieve 100 of those back)
FRANKS
- access to Hussar (more justification as to why it is a Cavalry Civilization)
- access to Heated Shot (makes those cheaper castles a defensive advantage as they lack keeps)
- removing Arson (Throwing Axeman are already anti-building enough to deal with this)
GOTHS
- Palisade Walls upgrade to Fortified Palisade Walls in Castle age with +500 HP (some temporary defense like this never hurts)
- removing Hand Cannoneer & Bombard Cannon (a barbarian civilization like them don't need gunpowder)
HUNS
- Castle Age tech 'Marauders' needs to change from "Creating Tarkans at Stables" to "Cavalry attack 20% Faster" (Tarkans are created slower in Stables and as a Cavalry Civilization, faster attacking Cavalry would make sense like how Mongols have it for Cavalry Archers)
INCAS
- need to be renamed as "Defensive Civilization"
- replace team bonus with their first civ bonus of having a free Llama (it is alright if only Incan farms are built faster, all allies having free Llama would be a more viable team bonus)
INDIANS
- access to Battle Elephants (let them be generic, it makes no sense for Indians to not have them and have the Elephant Archer, it also makes up for not having Knights alongwith the Imperial Camel)
ITALIANS
- access to Heavy Demolition Ship (now that makes for a solid Navy tree)
- Elite Skirmisher upgrade free (create great Archer & Gunpowder balance as they are clearly stated as an "Archer Civilization benefiting Gunpowder more)
JAPANESE
- removal of Conscription (those faster firing Infantry and faster packing Trebuchets are already good enough to deal with everything so faster creation of those feels OP)
KHMER
- Two Man Saw upgrade free (will benefit their famous scorpion rush and also gives them an eco boost)
KOREANS
- Castle Age tech 'Panoksia' makes turtle ships move 20% faster instead of 15% (a small speed boost on arguably the best Navy unit in the game can help catch up)
MAGYARS
- replaces 15% cheaper Scouts with 10% cheaper units which cost food (does not apply to the Magyar Huzsar)
MALAY
- should be renamed to "Infantry & Naval Civilization"
- Elite Karambit Warrior 8 attack instead of 7 (they are very underpowered otherwise and hence the depending upon Two-Handed Swordsmen)
MALIANS
- should be renamed to "Infantry & Cavalry Civilization"
- access to Halberdier (always amazing to have armored trash units)
MAYANS
- Farmers work 10% slower (laster longing resources with farm spams can create an OP economy)
- Castle Age tech 'Obsidian Arrows' also lets Skirmishers do +3 damage vs. Buildings (let's witness spears destroy a building :P)
MONGOLS
- Houses are built 50% Faster (Nomads may not reduce population capacity if buildings are destroyed, but this is a good way to increase pop cap)
PERSIANS
- Castle Age tech 'Boiling Oil' affects all siege units (only Rams is not enough, affecting melee units is OP as Persian castles get all building HP upgrades, so siege units it is)
PORTUGUESE
- Gunpowder units move 20% faster (since Mongols Castle Age tech 'Drill' doesn't affect Bombard Cannons as they are not in their tech tree, this shall show it!)
SARACENS
- Foot Archers move 15% Faster (better than their team bonus)
- Castle Age tech 'Madrasah' replaced with 'Caliphate' which lets Camels take 50% less damage from Anti-Cavalry attacks (better tech I suppose imo)
- Team Bonus replaced with Archer & Cavalry Archer line having no minimum range (more useful team bonus imo)
SLAVS
- Arson upgrade free instead of tracking (better start for Infantry transition during Castle Age)
SPANISH
- Missionaries convert Infantry & Archers faster than Monks (like how Monks convert mounted units, Missionaries shall do the opposite)
TEUTONS
- need to be renamed as "Defensive Civilization"
- 10 kills by a Teutonic Knight leads to 1 pop cap increase (makes the Teutonic Knight seems more Teutonic xD)
TURKS
- Access to the Stone Shaft Mining upgrade (makes for a good Bombard Tower rush)
VIETNAMESE
- Free Thumb Ring (feudal archer rush will be the best as they already have free conscription)
- Access to Blast Furnace (will make the front units like Infantry & Cavalry protect Archers better with the higher attack)
- Access to Husbandry (if Blast Furnace doesn't help, atleast this shall be there so that their Tanky Battle Elephants can raid well)
- Access to Siege Ram or Heavy Scorpion (Vietnamese lack great anti-building and anti-infantry units, the Bombard Cannon may not be enough as they need an anti-building unit which can soak up arrows)
VIKINGS
- Access to Shipwright (might arguably have the fastest Navy rush in the whole game)
*DO NOTE THAT ALL OF THEM DO NOT NEED TO BE APPLIED, EVEN IF ONE OF THEM IS APPLIED IT IS ENOUGH*
