I was in Spain for a wedding last week, and while we were in Sevilla I was able to stop by the Torre del Oro, as well as get a picture of one of the many statues of El Cid and Bavieca. This is my second time in Sevilla, and my wife still doesn't understand my infatuation with this otherwise unassuming building (or as unassuming as a medieval tower could be).
That leads to my next point; I think there are plenty of more impressive buildings in Spain that would be a better Spanish Wonder. The Torre del Oro isn't really all that Spanish to begin with, since it was originally and largely built by the Moors, and the Spanish just added the smaller tower on top in the 14th century.
I'm assuming the AOE2 developers didn't want all the European wonders to be Gothic cathedrals, but I think that the Spanish wonder really should be the Toledo Cathedral. It is one of, if not the most impressive cathedral I have toured, and was a very important building in regard to the rulers of what we could consider Spain today, since Toledo was the capital of Visigothic Spain from 513 to 711, as well as during medieval Spain from the Reconquista in 1085 until the capital was moved to Madrid in 1561.
