Easy vs Moderate AI

I played some AOE2 way back in the day so I was thinking about getting the HD for some nostalgia play then ended up going with AoM instead.

It might be a bit of an odd comment, but isn't there just way too much of a gap between the Easy and Moderate AI?

Easy feels like you could beat it 'operating' the mouse with your foot and never even touching the keyboard while Moderate actually seems to know what it's doing. I'm finally at a point where I can win about 1/3 against Moderate in a 1v1 (and maybe a slightly higher ratio if I wasn't playing when I'm tired at the end of the day - in 2v2s my partner AI always seems to get wrecked so I rarely win those), but I wish there was a bit of a setting between the two so I could ramp up/get used to it.
