free for all with 7x AI - custom game? And do AI cheat?

Hey..
I love to play custom games and I usually prefer free for all instead of teams. Unfortunately it seems setting AI to " - " makes them always attack me. I have to put them into teams so they attack each other, but I can't create more than 4 teams.

It there a workaround for this? Is this a known bug or something??

And another question I have is about their vision. They sometimes seem to struggle to find me but usually once they do, they seem to know even some isolated buildings I have for resources. They also seem to know when I drop a villager on land even if there's no unit nearby giving vision. Like if they have to scout but there's no fog, or just have a fully revealed map. Not sure.

I know however they promised no cheating AI for AoE 2 DE. Did they ever reveal how exactly it works in the first DE game?
