I currently only have AoE2 HD and I won't be getting the DE until all bugs are ironed out and I stop reading comments about the game's poor optimization, crashes and online problems.
A friend of mine is interested in also joining the AoE2 HD club but seeing as the game costs usually 20€ (all expansions included), it's a bit steep. I got it for 5€ at some point.
I then told my friend that he should wait for the Winter Sale, it'll surely be discounted by then since I remember it being discounted on pretty much every sale if my memory serves me right. Well, apparently it didn't? It's still at 20€.
I'm not sure whether the release of DE is the cause of it if Microsoft believes it would make a dent into DE sales since those products (HD and DE) are in direct competitions with eachother. Sure, one's newer and has fancier graphics, but the gameplay is like 90-95% there besides stuff like Farms automatically re-seeding etc. or some other tweaks to the interface, pathfinding, AI etc.
I'll probably jump on the DE train (de_train, heh, get it?) at some point but I'm hesitant to get it yet. Same with Halo: Reach and WarCraft 3: Reforged... Lots of "remasters" have buggy starts but most of them end up being great after they get a little more care from the devs in time.
