(If you think you've seen this post before it's because I deleted it and made some further explaining and balance changes.)Hello, AoE fans, how r u? I hope y'all are doing well and if not that you overcome whatever is troubling you quickly!
I've always been a huge fan of AoE and AoM series and ever since I was an teenager playing AoE3 I've always wanted to see them give continuity to the series and bring us the age of the empires that came after the Modern Age (however you wanna call it). Microsoft is now back on working on the series for AoE4 and it is an utmost great thing to hear and see and I'm very curious to see what they will come up with!
I've come to Reddit for the first time (right now) to see if I manage to rally some sympathizers to my cause and desire to see an AoE be made about the following chronological age, which I believe would be better represented by WWII (since I believe WWI took place yet in Modern Age and it would be a monotonous game), using AoE economy and military mixed mechanics. If other people find interest in it, I just want to get Microsoft considering it for the future - however long it may take - and I'd like to have possible healthy discussions with other Age of Empires and history fans and just play around with the idea (this is not a "hire me" supplication, I really just want it to be considered) of how it would look like.
I'll post here the draft of civilizations I've come to imagine after playing with the idea for a long time and I'd like to hear different opinions and suggestions. I'll also post a One Drive link with other things I devised in my free time, like the units, the tech tree, the buildings and game modes, just for funzies :) I'm posting it here because this seems to be the biggest AoE community in Reddit and thus the place where I'm more likely to find people who may be interested (no need to be mean :( ) I'm not an English speaker, so sorry for any grammatical mistakes :) I'd really like to discuss the idea with anyone interested in it and who is open to discussion!
Americans (focus: late game): Americans are a late game powerhouse with a nearly complete tech tree and dominant units, which are not so strong in the early game and need to be upgraded. They also don’t perform poorly in the early game due to some valuable bonuses. They have strong infantry, strong land vehicles, strong aircraft and a strong navy when well upgraded.
- Communication centres earn 33% more money
- Civilians/cargo ships gather fuel from oil refineries/platforms 25% faster
- Start the game with +100 of each resource
- Technologies are researched: in 20% less time in 2nd age/ 40% less time in 3rd age/ 80% in Imperial Age (except strategic technologies, occupation post specific technologies and ages)
- TEAM BONUS: Each teammate receives +100 food and +100 fuel whenever the American player reaches a new age.
Unique technologies:
- Dogfighters: fighter aircrafts deal higher pierce damage and have higher armour
- Lend-Lease: Each member of the team receives +1000 food and +1000 fuel.
British (focus: balanced): the British are a balanced civilisation which do well in most scenarios. They have specially strong units with high impact and siege damages. They have a full infantry tech tree, strong land vehicles, strong aircraft (specially bombers) and one of the best navies in the game.
- Buildings cost 20% less (40% for docks)
- Civilians have +20% HP
- Ships have +15% HP
- Aircrafts are 20% cheaper

- North African Campaign: improves the combat stats of heavy infantry (Bazooka, Machine Gun and Mortar), Infantry Tank and Cruiser Tank lines
French (focus: infantry and defences): The French are a strong infantry and defence civilisation. They have bonuses that benefit their gather rates of food (important to train civilians and infantry), a high HP infantry and defensive advantages. They have a strong infantry which lacks some upgrades and units, but they lack many land vehicles, aircraft and navy units and upgrades, making them a limited strategy civilisation.
- Civilians collect food from hunts and herds 33% faster
- Canteen saves 5% more food in 2nd Age/ 10% in 3rd Age/ 20% in Imperial Age
- Infantry has 10% more HP in 2nd Age/ 20% in 3rd Age/ 30% in Imperial Age

- Civilians move 15% faster
- Infantry moves 15% faster and has +2 LOS
- Ships cost 15% less (25% for fishing boats)
- TEAM BONUS: Occupation posts generate more resources
Unique technologies:
- Corporative State: gives each base centre a trickle of money but also raises the cost of civilians to 100 food and 35 money and raises the cost of food and fuel in the storage
- Italia Imperiale: Base centres, occupation posts and defensive buildings are much cheaper and build much faster
Germans (focus: balanced): Germans, as the British, are a well balanced civilisation. They have a large tech tree and powerful units, but they depend on many upgrades. They have good infantry and great land vehicles and a reasonable navy and air fleet.

Soviets (focus: late game): Soviets, as Americans, are a late game powerhouse due to their ability to mass units quickly and cheaply. They don’t have many early game bonuses but in the late game they may develop an unstoppable army on land. They don’t have a very upgradable infantry but it’s cheap and easy to mass, they have strong land vehicles and a not so shiny navy and air fleet

- Politburo: receives +750 money every 6 minutes but civilian gathering rates fall by 8%
Chinese (focus: infantry): Chinese may develop a strong economy and massive infantry armies. They have some advantages in the early game, but by the late game they lack many units and upgrades which makes them fall behind other civilisations.
- Civilians cost 20% less food
- Civilians are trained in 10% less time in 2nd Age/ 15% in 3rd Age/ 20% in Imperial Age
- Barracks work in 33% less time

- Infantry upgrades cost no fuel
- Most buildings can garrison (garrisoned units can shoot)
