I can play the campaign fine and I've even taken over 1 hour on some missions building unnecessarily big bases and armies. So I don't think its an engine issue or whatever. But yeah random map games.. regardless of map or amount of players, it'll crash to desktop about 5-10 minutes in every single time. No error or anything. I have a good PC, updated drivers and windows 10, so no idea why this is happening. It seems to be a common bug but I couldn't find any fix for it, it'd be really nice to play the game again without constantly being on the edge for crashes. It's on steam and I have the DLC btw

I have the same issue that I can play campaign but in random map after loading it crash but I found a solution and it is not about the computer system..... It's the AI... I download AI at https://aom.heavengames.com/downloads/showfile.php?fileid=11234 and unzip it to the ai2 folder in aom file location.. then play random map choose aomodAL bot opponent or allies.. let me know if this works for you.
