Things AoE2:DE can do for the scenario editor

I've seen a lot of talk of new features for multiplayer, however few about the other half of the playerbase: the single players. So I thought I'd make a post about things the scenario editor can really use to make it better useable.

Actually working triggers

This might need some explaining to people who never use the editor but the triggers in AoE2 have been buggy since forever. As an example, say you want to have a group of units attack. To do this you need to make an "attack move" trigger, set the area around the units and set a location. Seems normal thus far, but then you need to deselect the trigger, reselect it and set the area again or it will not work. Another fun one, units set to patrol to the edge of the map will sometimes crash the game when they return to their original position.

Userpatch features

I'd guess this will be added anyway, but it needs to be here. userpatch allows you to copy triggers, enable/disable units and techs midgame and just basically do a lot of amazing things.

Unit stats

Triggers are able to change a unit stats like attack and health. However there are a few issues with this. Unit stats don't update visually if they get set lower than the original (so a unit with 14 attack that has its attack lowered by 5 will still advertise 14 attack even if it does 9). Also a trigger to change a units LOS would be nice.

Undo

Just please...

Terrain painting

A few issues here, imagine you misplaced a unit. No problem right? You just delete it,.. but wait! You instead deleted the cliff that was on the other side of the map IN AN ENTIRELY DIFFERENT SCENARIO (that might be a bit exaggerated). Or what about the times when you're painting some water, accidentally touch the edge of the screen and the scenario editor decides to move it at twice the speed of light going through all your previous hard work which you can't get back because there is no undo button.

There's probably a lot I missed, so please comment with your own idea's for the editor (I dunno, build in genie editor? - I can dream).
