If you replace the hydrogen in an H bomb with iron, would it weaken the explosion from the uranium?

IIRC H bombs use uranium to create fission, which compresses the hydrogen to create fusion. If you fuse iron instead, would that reaction weaken the fission explosion since fusing iron takes more energy than it gives?
