If you aren't familiar, single building queue (SQ) refers to how in classic AoC, you can only queue units from one building at a time, and even if you have multiple buildings selected, all of those units will just be made at 1 building. Multiple building queue (MQ) is an addition made in HD, and then later added to UP 1.4 on Voobly, where when you select multiple buildings and queue several units, they will automatically be distributed among each production facility. This objectively makes the game easier as you do not need as many clicks to make your units, nor do you even need to look at your base to do it.
My frustrations arise from the fact that there is no consensus on whether MQ should be allowed in competitive multiplayer and tournaments, leading to these variations:
Voobly UP 1.5: SQ default, but the host can change it to MQ and still have the game rated.
WololoKingdoms Mod on Voobly: MQ default, but the host can change it back to SQ and the game will still be rated.
HD Version on Steam: MQ is enabled by default and cannot be changed (to my knowledge).
Consensus among pros/veterans: SQ only because that is how the game has been played since TheZone
Tournaments: All of the HD ones have MQ, and Voobly tournaments are generally SQ, but with WololoKingdoms becoming rated some force MQ.
Really all I am asking is for there to be a standardization for competitive play. If high level players think MQ is a handicap, then why is it allowed to be used in rated ladder games on both Voobly and Steam? It's okay to use MQ on HD tournaments, but not on most Voobly ones? I've gotten used to MQ after playing HD for a few years, but I don't mind re-learning SQ- I just want to pick the one that is standard across all levels of competitive play.
TLDR: Can we please decide if MQ is competitive legal or not and enforce that decision on the ladder 11
