So I'm a college freshman, been in modern physics and I've loved it so far. That is, until last week when we started thermodynamics. I encountered it in high school and it was algebra based so it was pretty dull having already learned calculus (school didn't offer calculus based physics). I figured that in college I'd be in a class with a higher expectation math background and we'd thus be able to talk about more interesting things within the area, but I've still had to fight to pay attention ever since we ended our special relativity unit and started thermo. Does it get more interesting later on? I can handle the class as is but it's sort of disappointing to feel this way about a branch of physics, which I've otherwise been in love with since I took my first class.
