I have just started my Bachelor's and I was looking for a laptop to use for taking notes, browsing and watching movies mainly. However I don't know which programs I will be using (e.g.: MATLAB? Mathematica?). I'm sure later on I will be using some "heavy" software which will require quite a bit of resources to run but is a relatively powerful computer required?
My main choice right now is the Asus Chromebook C302 (on which I could install a Linux distro if needed) which is a great piece of hardware, with great battery and light for travel but I was wondering if I would need something more powerful.
