Hi Guys, I really like playing Age of Empires series, and I've been playing it off the disc for at least a decade now. Recently, however, I began playing it on Steam, so as to be able to enjoy the graphics that work properly with Windows 7, a re-vamped Multiplayer system, and the ability to potentially access the new Expansion Packs (the most exciting thing, for me)
But ever since I started playing on Steam, in both Age of Empires 2 and two other games I play Fallout - New Vegas and Team Fortress 2, I've found out about 'Steam Achievements', which are, IMO, very nice features that allow the long-term player to be proud of their experience. But, some of the AOE2 achievements are quite grind-y, and without a dedicated in-game numbers counter to keep track for you apart from the very simplistic Steam Awards page, I decided to make a functional mock-up for tracking your progress in MicroSoft Excel.
This is a picture of it, with notes added in MicroSoft Paint for explanation.
Please give me your opinions about it, the potential for it to become better, and please make me aware if a similar concept has been done.
Thank you and goodnight.
