When I'm actually in a lobby and playing the game it's wonderful. However I honestly cannot get over how terrible Microsoft's friend/invite system is.
AoE is the type of game that I enjoy playing with friends and so last night when we all booted up the game after work and it took us 30 minutes to try and get in the same friggin' lobby most of us were fuming. The only way we could accept invites was to turn on bloody windows notifications (seriously, who has those turned on ever?) and even once we figured that out it still didn't work half the time and resulted in us making public lobbies and kicking randoms out until all of our IRL friends were in the one lobby.
Not sure if we were the only ones finding this system infuriating but it sure is making me consider never touching it again until it comes out on Steam where the invite system is actually functional.
