So the DE develop team said there will be new "smart" boxing selection, that when you box a mixed group of army and villagers, only army will be selected. However, no matter how "smart" it is, it will fall short to satisfy everyone in every situation. Instead, I prefer an option just a simple hotkey toggle for boxing selection:
- Select a mixed group (default)
- Select military only (with ctrl pressed)
- Select villagers only (with shift pressed)
The reason I bring this up is when I have no choice but box a mixed group during a messy fight under my TC, my desire for "smart" selection can happen either way: to garrison only my farmers or control only my troops to fight. If the algorithm is smart enough tell these two situation apart, we might as well just to let the AI play for us.
