https://i.redd.it/1qi4j3sqof531.png Finally after more that 2 years we are going to get a group of 4 new civs. Despite the surprise of the final selection of civs, the general concept of "The Last Khans" about Eastern Europe plus western Central Asia was an obvious option. Since "Rise of Rajas" and "African Kingdoms" expanded the map of AoE2 to complety new regions "The Last Khans" revised one of the biggest holes on the map, Central Asia and their Turkic nations. This nations unknown or generalized by most because they complex history, were true powers that innoveted the art of war changing for ever the destiny of Europe, Middle East, India and Far East. So with a total of 35 civs for sure many people would consider unnecessary the addition of more, and others will see it as hasty. But, despite that here is the concept for a new thematic DLC, "The Celestial Empires" an Far East thematic expansion. New civs: > MANCHUS: Also know as Jurchen went from humble farmers and reeinder breeder tributaries of Chinese, Mongols and Koreans to impose their own dynasty, the Jin. Since then, Manchus turn to be a threat for all their neighbors until they take China one more time, to form the powerfull Qing. - UU: "Iron Pagoda" Shock Heavy Cavalry unit. Also can be infantry and use all kind of weapons. - Campaign: Prince general Wuzhu. > TIBETANS: The Tufan, powerfull empire from the roof of the world, surrounded by Tatars, Chinese, Saracens, Persians, Indians, Tais, Burmese, etc. They managed to defeat most of the proud asiatic empires around them. - UU: "Zimchongpa" Before the Pope had the Swiss Guard, the Dalai Lama had the Zimchongpa. Professional heavy infantry armed with pikes. - UU: "Tibetan Mastiff": A huge and agressive dog bred, adapted to protect villages and cattle from wolf and snow leopards. This could be a very unique unit to produce on Town Center. - Campaign: Emperor Songtsen Gampo. > TAIS: A group of kingdoms from southern China, India and Southeast Asia, including Nanzhao, Ahom, Lan Na, Lan Sang, Sukhotai and Ayutthaya. They challenged Chinese and Mongol rule and turned the table againts Burmese and Khmers. - UU: "Elephant Gun" The kingdom of Ayutthaya innovated in the use of guns and cannons on Southeast Asia. - Campaign: King Naresuan. > DRAVIDIANS: The peoples of southern India like the Tamils and Kannadigas between others, built some of the more impresive and rich empires of the medieval age. The Chalukya, Cholas and Vijayanagara not only resisted the muslim advance over India, but also conquered parts of Indonesia and Southeast Asia and had important comercial and diplomatic relations with China. Protecting and spreading the culture of their subcontient. -UU: "Valari or Chakram Warriors" The Valari (native of Tamilnadu) and the Chakram (well know because the Sikhs and certain TV warrior princess) are melee and boomerang-like weapons that could be used to deal with more that one enemy at the same time as teach the Silambam martial arts. - Campaing: Emperor Rajendra Chola. New regional unit: "Grenadier" China is the homeland of gunpower, explosives, rockets and early guns, so is not new that they also had the early grenades or "Sky-shaking Thunder". This weapons was used on medieval time by Chinese, Mongols, Manchus, Koreans and Japanese, between others, so is obvious to be a unique "Far East" regional unit with damage area and advantage againts buildigns. New building set: The current "Far East" set is highly Japanase, so a second more Chinese could help. New gaia units: The game already have herdable animals like sheep, turkey, cow, llama, goat, water buffalo and pig. So Tibet can give ous the Yak and Manchuria the Reindeer. What about the agressive Snow Leopards from the Himalayas and the defensive Tapir from Thailand. [link] [comments] |
