What would you guys think of a rule letting someone in a tournament give a trusted other person speccing the game the ability to call a re for them?
Players have to decide whether or not to re in a very brief period of time (typically the first four in game minutes) with incomplete information about the map, as they only know what they have scouted. Admin re's exist for a reason but many situations that aren't admin re's can make the game uncompetitive, like both your extra golds being very forward, or a nomad start where the nearest gold or stone is miles away.
I feel like this kind of rule could avoid these situations that increase the luck factor of what should be a competitive game, if the rule were implemented right, and included a few clauses.
-
The same constraints for calling re's would apply (e.g. you still can't call a re after 4 mins of the host game time)
-
The re-caller could communicate between games with the player, but would not be allowed to communicate with the player during the game, except to tell the player that they were using a re
-
The player could still use a re by their own decision, but would have to use a re if the the re-caller called a re
-
The re-caller couldn't be another player in the same tourney to avoid conflict of interest situations
What do you guys think of this idea for a rule?
