Hello guys I was crashing to desktop upon ageing up castle age nearly every game post patch.
I looked in my PC settings and found Windows update was not working due to an old virus I must have had.
- I fully updated my PC and repaired Windows update. I also upgraded to Windows pro and now I have not had a single CTD in six matches, before it was nearly every match. *
I am not sure which of those three things fixed it but something did. Basically because Microsoft made AOE2DE I believe the game regularly contacts Microsoft/Windows servers and that a broken windows updater/operating system key will cause the game to fail to contact an crash.
Interestingly I previously could not play dayz or squad due to a windows error, they now both work since the fix.
Maybe this may help some of you thanks.
