How different does the AI play compared to a regular player?

Hello! Noob here.

Somehow stumbled across AOE2:HD videos 5 or so months ago from T90, then watched the Hidden Cup #2 (So good), then started watching Viper etc more regularly, also was cheering for Fast Dragon in HC2 :)

Anyway, I can beat the "Standard" AI difficulty now fairly often, it takes me on average of 90-100 minutes of in game time, 60-80 real life time. I find they can get the Castle and Imp faster than me, but I survive then win, just.

Anyway, as the title says, how much different does a regular person play compared to AI? I've noticed they wont start attacking me until Castle Age at least, I guess that's one difference? Anything else?
