Hi, I'm trying to find a vod where viper traps and kills the enemy king within the first minute or two if the game.
I remember at some point skirmishers used to add some extra arrows, not many but you could get at least 1 or 2 extra. Now even if I garrison 25 imperial skirmishers into teuton town center, it adds 0 arrows. Same for watch towers and castles.
Does anyone know when or why this was changed?
I'm a huge fan of small nerfs and small buffs to iron things out. Most of the time they aren't game-breaking.
Right now it seems pretty obvious that Russia is underperforming overall next to China.
Lakota, Sweden, and Japan are overperforming in every aspect. Mistakes are forgiven far too easily and the amount of effort required to win is simply not as much as the current lower-tier civilizations.
Yes every civilization has its strengths and weaknesses, here are my suggestions:
GENERAL:
Give wood trickle, food trickle, and coin trickle an additional 5% yield to their respective natural resources.
China:
Russia:
BALANCED.
Lakota:
Currently they can mass up their high-HP, high attack easy-raiding cavalry way too quickly for their eco being as good as it is in DE with great hunt and 4 settlers factored into not having to build any homes.
Sweden:
Japan:
Ottomans:
BALANCED.
If you're wondering why I'm taking jabs at eco for say, Ottomans - it's because a slightly lower eco will result in a slightly less powerful game overall for them, not because their overall eco is OP but because of what they can afford with it for the cost.
What do you guys think?
If you click to patrol while holding shift you set points and your units will patrol in any way you want
Cyan fell with my starting army, but green and blue are just too hard.
How did you beat the scenario within less than 30 minutes?

Hello there was a post with civs getting a grade for each of their AGES recently. Can anyone point me to it please?
again i need per age and not by map type.

New PC, minimized graphics, the game will freeze for a few seconds, but i can still move the cursor. Also the menu sometmes keeps flickering in the middle of the game. I have tried reinstalling, removing mods. I think it maybe something to do with a steam cloud because I had the same main menu randomly flickering on my laptop. Anyone had similar issues?
I tried asking microsoft but they just stopped responding to me after a couple of emails.
I have always loved playing valley with Vikings and building their cheaper docks and a few fishing ships. But the real goal was having 15 or 20 longboats to totally secure the map. A few months back in one of the tournaments maybe 2v2 world cup a guy made caravels to own the middle. T90 didn't know it was even possible to move boats on the sand. So I'd love to hear unique ideas. Even if the strategy just looks good on paper. I find I enjoy working out the details and making plans far more than just spamming trash. Even on a 20 year old game I'm quite sure there's still great new ideas.
I tried all the fixes support suggested, disable firewall, check internet connection (dont know why that matters for singleplayer) check game file integrity. Ever since I downloaded Lords of the West I think, the game will play for varying amounts of time but then stops responding. Its driving me crazy I just want to play this game
Is anyone aware of a working 256x Tech mode for AOE 2 DE?
I have tried 3 different ones but they all crash the game.

Which civ has nice late Imperial Age Hussars+HCA combos, plus bonuses?

Is he hinting that he'll be moving to Brazil? Is he hinting that he's a vegetarian like the tapir?
What does the zebra riding the tapir mean? Does it mean aiz has such a huge manhood that it's sticking out of his zebra-striped speedos?
I use QWER for going to barracks, stable archery and siege shop. Then they ASDF for making units.. Example for making Paladins i use WA and for hussars i use WS and so on.... How do i simplify this further
I played the game casually as a kid, but it was only when i picked up the DE version a couple of months ago I realised that i wanna go competitive. I’ve managed to setup my own hotkeys that I’m comfortable with and learned a few build orders(learning more ofc) And I kinda mastered a few civs in my level like aztecs and bulgarians and magyars and I’m really training to learn and explore more. I’ve managed to get my elo up from 600s to 1100s in like a month I’ve played nearly 200 ranked games in total. I’ve been watching a lot of tournaments and pro streams in the past months and I realised that some certain players have been dominating in the game for years like the viper l, hera, tatoh etc... And these guys have years of experience and gameplay some of them have been playing for 20+ years! So here comes the question Is it late for someone like me to train and try to go competitive? How can a newer player compete with these players? Thanks.
After completing the Burgundian's campaign of the second in the series, the stats showed that I sent negative 20k, and the other ais sent like negative 10k, negative 800, etc. Is this a bug? Just curious.
What the title says
So I was doing the 5th mission of the Malay campaign and I was going around the city destroying buildings and units when I noticed that the unit paths were entirely wonky. Like taking the long way around a when there's a clear direct path, units acting like there is invisible walls everywhere. Honestly that got me really annoyed. I can deal with losing units normally but not when my units act like there's invisible walls everywhere and go around in circles and wont go to an area even though the path is clear. /rant
Hopefully the devs will be able to fix this since it looks like they are still around.
They should have named the following civs:
Britons - British/English Franks - French Teutons - Germans Saracens - Arabs
Hello people of AoE2 subreddit.
My request for the devs of this game is simple. Unlock the cheat "Going above and beyond" from a event unlocked cheat code to a open one for all players to enjoy.
My arguing for this request are a few but the simple point is that the downloadable mod is bugged and doesn't work.
No other game in i know of has a whole game mode behind a legacy update which can't be unlocked from this time onwards.
256 research in my view is a game mode, not just a simple cheat. With friends on LAN it is the most fun thing to do. But it's not possible with my friends right now.
It changes the whole game beyond just having more wood or food cheats.
Take a look at Spirit of the law's video on this.
Do you want to do this having just bought the game? Tough luck, you should have bought the game a year ago.
TLDR: Is it possible (or is anyone aware of a bug / glitch) for well defended and isolated factories to be destroyed spontaneously without any opposition anywhere near?
Details: I was trying to fight off an intense 3v1 battle last night and it went on for quite a while. All of a sudden I see an attack warning on the other side of the map near my economy so I quickly checked and I see my factory explode as if it was just being destroyed that moment. A few seconds later the same thing happens and I see my second factory being destroyed. The entire economy and base was heavily walled off with no access from the opposition. To be safe I built some horses and sent them to the area in case I just couldn't see an attacker but they just stood around because there was no one to attack. None of my other buildings were impacted. Quite a bizarre occurrence.
The only explanation I can think of (other than an odd bug/glitch) would be if somehow someone was sneaking in some military through a hole in the wall and deleting them the instant the factories were destroyed, before I clicked on the map to see the last second animation of the destruction. But I did check the walls and couldn't see any way they could get in.
I did end up conceding the match since holding off 3 was becoming overbearing, but had I kept my factories I may have held them off longer and perhaps increased my chances of a miracle.

So, I struggled a while for Drush-FC when we had the very closed Arabia generations. Then I started to get use to always immediately going towers when the opponent makes Militia. Nowadays though, the Drush is often transitioned into a faster up and archer follow-up which counters that pretty well.
Except for up-times, which seems inconsistent in that regard, what would be indicators that my opponent is not going FC after his Drush but is actually planning to drop ranges?
Today is the last day for the KOTH tournament signup. We made a competitive tierlist for it to give people an idea of what to expect.
Let us know what you think!
In front you is a open terrain of 5sq miles. Two teams are fighting there. Team 1 has 1 heavy horse archer. Team 2 has 100 halberdiers. Who will win?
I was looking at the upcoming matches today and saw that ACCM has to play both TheViper (Master of Socotra) and DauT (showmatch hosted by OGN_Empires). He's a beast but I bet he could use all the support there is!
So I'm new to AOE2 DE coming back from when I used to play this in high school back in the day. Been playing skirmish modes with AI generally. Found on the user statistics that SKirmish games against AI are recorded in the total games but I have 0 wins despite winning games, is this suppose to work this way, how does it work, am I gonna forever have a 0% winrate unless i play online...
I’ve gotten decent at the archer build order in terms of timing. I have about 6 archers around 14 minutes, and 24-28 once I hit castle age.
However, I’ve lost many games where I have a much bigger army than my opponent, but then when my xbows are out in the open and when I briefly switch back to my eco, my xbows get totally wiped out by a mangonel or two. Then the game snowballs, and I lose. Should I keep my archers/xbows in my base until I know I can ignore my eco for a little while and give the xbows my undivided attention? How can you possibly raid effectively that way? This feels too passive. Should I not raid with xbows, and only use them in giant offenses? Do I just need to practice a lot more and eventually I’ll be able to switch successfully between xbow micro and eco micro?
When I drush into FC with knights, I’m about mid 1100 ELO in DE 1v1 random map (generally Arabia). When I go archers I’m probably mid 900s. Xbows feels so much harder. I’d like to be as aggressive (constant pressure, raiding vills) with xbows as I am with knights. How can I do that? What are things I should avoid? For example, with knights I can run deep into a walled enemy base, harass villlagers, and then run back out if needed without suffering casualties. If I send my xbows deep into a walled enemy base to get villager kills, that usually means they’re not coming back out. They tend to get slowly cornered, and eventually slaughtered.
Things I’ve tried that aren’t fully sufficient:
Staggered formation. This makes a big difference
Throw in a few knights. Should I assume I will always need a few knights?
Split micro. My micro and timing are terrible. I often don’t even know when the mango is there in the first place
One more question. How to best micro vs a bunch of knights out in the open in Arabia? I suck at micro, and when there are a bunch of knights sometimes I lose track of the one I just shot, if it takes two shots to kill. Should I not step back until I can get two rounds of shots in, the first one I clicked, and the second the xbows shoot on their own? And I should I just go back in and hide in my base when I see knights with 2+2 armor (even when I have bodkin, ballistics, and archer ring)?

Hi all, for some reason I'm trying to beat the Bari mission 4 (hard) and I cannot seem to make Cannon Galleons at all. I've researched chemistry, and it's still greyed out. I'm at a loss, did they remove making it from the scenario? or am I missing something?
Also this level is bonkers insane and I can't find a way through easily. Red pumps too many units that are seemingly impossible to fend off, and green's crossbows pick off people with perfect precision. Probably beating a dead horse here, as there's been other posts on this mission, but I'm having more difficulty with it now that I've ever had in HD.
I recently watched two great games that really showcased strategy with Sicilians and it has kind of impressed me with what they're capable of and how differently they are played.
The first video shows Daut playing against Slam as Mayans. The second, which in my opinion shows Viper perfectly leveraging their bonuses, drives this point home even further on a closed fortress map against Yo as Huns. In both games, Daut and Viper use First Crusade to relieve their greedy booms which get them over a ten villager lead. Then they push out and establish map control on all of the maps resources as they pile on pressure. By the time they are repulsed, they have fortifications all over the map, relics, and can comfortably transition to mixed trash comp armies to starve opponents of resources, and then Scutage can help hasten a killing blow when the enemy inevitably loses resource income first due to lack of map control.
The sicilans have a bunch of small power timings and effects as a result of resource control that make them a macro-players dream. Like T90 said, it isn't sexy but it's quite different. What are your thoughts on how the pros have been playing them and their potential for competitive aoe?
https://www.ageofempires.com/news/aoe3de-update-18493/
So, in AoE3 DE, there is a new feature which shows resource per minute metrics which will be shown along with the resources. Can we get a similar feature in AoE2? I think it might be difficult to implement as the villagers often get stuck while gathering resources.
What are your thoughts?
So I have this problem with stable units and its translation to spanish (Latin-american) and other latin derived languages.
For the stable gold units we have:
The thing is that we normally translate Knight as Caballero but we already have Caballero for Cavalier, so they decided to name it Jinete... you may think well it's not bad, but Jinete derives from zenata which are genitours, in fact genitours in the spanish (Latin-american) translation are called zenetes so you have zenetes and jinetes as different units, the funny thing is that in the french translation, genitours (zenetes) are named jinetes and knights (jinetes) are named chevaliers and cavalier well, cavalier 11 meanwhile in the Spanish translation(Spain) they were like fuck it, we will have caballero for knight and caballero for cavalier.
The other thing is that Zenetes were actually light cav.
Hopefully I didn't make mess trying to explain it.
I was wondering, which other translation inaccuracies have you found? it doesn't matter the language.

I have a relatively good pc 8 RAM, a decent video card, a solid disk, and I run the game at the lowest graphic settings with a 1200x resolution. But it keeps crashing on multiplayer games with 4 or more players. After 10 minutes the game freezes and it is GG.
I have an AMD Radeon 6450 video card and I cannot afford a new one right now, but that's the only thing my PC would be lacking
Ranked games 1v1 work perfectly
Suggestions?
When I play custom campaigns downloaded from the workshop, if I save the game and reload it, I won't be able to unlock the next scenario after finishing the campaign. I will have to cheat with "i r winner" by which I get no achievements.
Anyone else having this issue?
I just got booted out of 2 games unexpectedly. I have 60fps on medium, running through a fiber 900mbps internet connection. This is my specs. If my PC can't handle this, who the hell can? I've done everything from reinstalling the game to drivers etc... It just seems to randomly pick an inopportune time once a day to start crashing the middle of matches. What the hell is wrong with the game?

Don’t quit in general when you get a map, I’ve been dropped 4 times in a row, just play the damn game and use your bans.
Annoying as hell.
I downloaded AoE 3 Definitive Edition today and the graphic is very blurry, it‘s no fun to play. I found about the non blurry mod but it didn‘t help. Are there any other solutions?
Hey everyone, one of my biggest disappointments with DE is the post-game stats, I don't get why there haven't been any game stats added since the early 2000s, I think it would be very interesting to have more stats and graphs such as :
I could go on for hours about all the stats I wish we could have in DE because I love looking at all the numbers after a game and analysing the data in my head. Some of these stats exist in CaptureAge but I don't want to have to record all my games and watch them again to see the stats, I wish they were integrated in this 20 year-old post-game screen. Age of Mythology's post-game screen has had over 15 graphs and more detailed stats since 2003, why can't DE get at least some of those? People have been asking for those and I wonder why havent the devs done anything in that direction, I'm sure they have more important things to do but how hard can it be to add more detailed stats? (I'm honestly asking, it sounds really easy to do but I could be way off)
Thanks for coming to my TedTalk, be sure to grab a lamed boar sandwich on the way out
Trying to figure out whether I get AOE2 or 3. I far prefer AOE3 for the setting and card system, but wary that there are significantly less players.
How is it for Aus players wanting to be reasonably competitive? I used to play a lot of sc2 and have a very low tolerance for latency in RTS
Some crazy meme strat got executed in this match in the quarter final... that i never seen in my 20 years of AoE2. meme lovers you've been warned 11
I know there are videos walkthrough but I don't want to spend 30mn watching a video and then repeat everything. I'm looking for some kind of written walkthrough or guidelines because I'm stuck now and sometimes I just don't get what the game expects from me or how to do what's asked. Do you know any kind of guide online? Thanks a lot! Edit: For AoE2 DE
I swear to god, weird shit is happening with military units.
Be me
Be drushing
Be selecting units and clicking north so they walk in a straight line outside of the TCs range of fire
Units walk in a crooked "L" not straight line "I" - they turn east into the TC instead of north.
Anyone else?
Edit: Why is this being downvoted - if it's an issue/bug we should be able to agree on it yes no

I played a game earlier as Japanese planning to do MAA -> Archers. Opponent was lithuanians. I kinda flubbed up my build and also scouted his stable so I knew he was going scouts. I tried to small wall and make a few spears, switch to straight archers, go castle. OH MAN. I didnt quite get walled up when I see a few scouts. They dink and dunk around running from spears and slapping buildings but I hold for a min.
And then more. I'm like hmmm hes never gonna make castle age using all the food like that. I sparingly make a couple more spears because I have a bit I'm having trouble walling. Lemme tell ya... the scouts didnt stop. I ended up with like 16 archers and garrisoned my TC and this dude has scouts eating arrows under my TC and wipes so many vils and ALL my archers and spears. He ended up killing some other vils too. I went archers into castle into gg build order.
I scope his base. Dude has like 6 stables and around 50 farms. He was not going castle. I played around with it and if you can beat the Arabia wall meta it can be really fun. People dont expect it at all! If they wall everything forget it though.
Anyways it was a silly match and a build I didn't consider before! It ended up wrecking me so hard because I was trying to conserve res to limp to castle age!
So, I wanted to have a custom main menu background. Since I am not able to do a mod, I searched for another way, which I am sharing here. It is fairly simple, once you know the steps.
Perhaps it helps someone.
5 min ago I played against huns as Bulgarians. I had a perfect opening with 4 scouts in his base and already saw his 2 archerranges. So... castleage was great too with having full upgraded skirms and knights to deal with his CA and I also got a castle on the hill between us. I got early in imp so my eco was way weaker than his was. I pushed him hard but didn’t expected the spam of tarkans and hussars. The tarkans eat walls and tc like bread and the game turned out good for him. Only halbs and kreposts safed my base. I used my knights to raid his eco and won finally, but I must say it was the most stressful game I’ve ever had! The mobility of Huns is impressive, like their tarkans just acting like freaky rams! I didn’t saw any player go tarkans before, but keep in mind they are amazing and no one would expect a Desaster like they produce!
Is there still an active online community for AOM and AOM:TT? I used to play ~15 yrs ago, ranked pretty high like 1920+ and matched up a few times with some greats like hope naturephoenix GP Josey Wales. Some others I can’t remember names. Dabbled in some high ranking clans Vagabond & PW. This was when the Isis FH strat was prime. I played Odin/Thor early raid or FH to counter and it was always a blast win or lose (I hated playing as Egyptian) Anyways, game still live? worth buying a key and logging back in?
Hey all, just a quick question. I’m trying to set up hot keys using my forward and back mouse button as control groups but I’m having trouble. I’m able to set the keys to create the group and recall it but in game it doesn’t work.
When I set the keys in options it just comes up as ‘ctrl + extra button’ (to set) and ‘extra button’ to recall. Is the game not recognizing something correctly?
Before Lords of the West is out, I could open up the campaigns to extract the scenarios through the Campaign Editor.
However, I cannot do that anymore, because the files are now in .gpv, rather than aoe2campaign.
Has anyone a solution on how to do so?
Hi guys!
I'm not a very frequent AoE2DE player, considering that I have a toaster PC. Till date, I only managed to unlock the "Going above and beyond" cheat and not even the "Tech tech one two free" cheat. What other cheats or one time unlocks have I missed? (Other than skins and avatars)
Hey guys, if you miss the classic death sounds (https://youtu.be/DEsB-DNbpS4) but prefer to keep the other DE sound effects, check out my mod here 😀
https://www.ageofempires.com/mods/details/21188/
I know there are already a few Original Sounds mods. But I really like to keep DE's attacking sounds (crossbow, pike, etc.) as they are more colorful.
Hope you enjoy!
Hey I’m new to this game and really loving it! I’m 33 and wondering why I didn’t play years ago! Now my question may be somewhere on this sub but I can’t find it. How do I hire those privateer ships? I know there’s a way to get them as a shipment but is there any other way? I always see other teams with them
is anyone else experiencing multiplayer deactivation, supposedly server maintenance? 2/25/21 at 20:40 EST
I want to start playing random but keep getting in situations where I want to go arbs only to discover my civ doesn't have them.
I just playedy Ivaylo 5 and before destroying the Hungarians, I decided to have some fun. I made a small force, got to the starting point, killed enemy units and then made myself a path through the forest in the south-eastern part of the map. I started scouting, built docks, got some support from my man Kasim Beg, rebuilt Kasim's village, destroyed two feitorias, razed half of Kiev... And then decided to kill the Magyar baron.
The thing is: if you kill the baron, all your buildings, resources and units are transferred to Radu Negru and you're left hanging alone. So I landed with nothing, unable to capture a new base, without an army and, surprisingly, without will to play any more.
Remember, my fellow casual players: if you see an opportunity, save your game before taking it!
How do I disable it? I can't just enter "noui" as cheats don't work on replays. Also how do I hide the mouse pointer?
So I'm a low Elo noob who likes to theory-craft, and a noobier friend of mine goes feudal trade carts, which got me thinking, is there a world where trade carts ASAP make sense?
It turns out after silk road and caravan, Italians trade carts are almost as good as gold miners as far as return on investment* goes. Now why would you go imp, invest in a castle, and pay 700 food and 450 gold early on to do with a bigger latency something you can already do with a 100 wood mining camp and villagers? This is the question I'll try to answer.
First, by building trade carts ASAP, you are growing your economy by means other than town centers (in a way similar to docks). Since Each cart takes twice as long to be trained, each 175 wood market can be thought of as a half town center. Since you need your first market anyway to go fast imp or fast castle in maps which warrant it, it's as if you "saved" 137.5 wood and 50 stones. Any subsequent market used to continuously produce carts can be thought of as trading 37.5 wood for 50 stone, or the equivalent vill times.
Second, in very closed map, such as Amazon Tunnel, it's often good to have a first castle up early. That could be yours.
Third, Fast imp as Italians is sensible, because of the reduced age up cost and strong gunpowder. So if you have to bail out, you have good ways to spend your banked up food and gold for things other than Silk Road and caravan.
So the ideal conditions might be something like:
- Spanish ally. Obviously.
- Very closed map. We're playing the long game. Amazon tunnel is great.
- A Teuton ally. Or any strong defensive ally, but Teuton can also sling farms, of which you need many for a fast imp. Especially great on amazon tunnel where the whole team start close by and there are extra boars so the Teuton player can be slung a few herd-ables and hunt-ables to still do a decent fast castle boom. Alternatively, the Italians player could be slung animals and forego farms for a long time.
- An ally which can burn through gold fast. Like Khmer double dumboes or Turks. Since you will mostly touch your main gold, and will sling a lot of gold late game.
Economically speaking, this strat is obviously much worse than 3-5 TC boom, so you'd have to apply some military pressure to make it worth. One way to do it would be to help your teammate clown pushing in castle age with trebs, to make maximal use of your castle.
Alternatively, I guess one could go for a regular fast TC boom strategy, maybe with one less TC (2-4) and consider starting trading upon aging up to imp in a more usual way.
I can't possibly be the first to think of similar junk, henceforth if you've seen something similar discussed elsewhere I'd be very grateful to have pointers (even regular Italian fast imp are of interest to me).

I only just reached 1300 elo and i've been pretty successful with burma vs melee civs. Either been lucky or been able to interpolate opposing start position using relics which means i usually have more time to do push deer. And m@a +spears into pikes and monks has been super successful.
But still not too sure how to leverage their civ bonuses vs ranged civs. Especially britons. The lack of armour really starts to hurt in castle age and just snowballs in imperial. Feels like eles are too hard to attain in 1v1 leaving their average knights into cavalier to handle archer balls.
And britons especially are able to pressure too much before i can get enough kts to handle their xbow corner stacking blob.

Slopes has extra deer instead of boar, which has a noticable impact on standard build orders. Do you push all deer to under TC? do you add any extra TC vils (e.g. more than 9 TC vils for archer rush)? Do you try to get all deer?
I have this older pc at home which doesn't run DE, however being used to DE i would like to use the same Hotkeys without having to switch everytime.
Thanks!
Green, yellow, or cyan?
After beating the extreme AI you unlock this mod. Apparently it's supposed to recognize your achievements or something but the AI still hasn't spoken to me since lol
How does it work
Hey Reddit!
The second episode of my challenger series is coming to Twitch this Saturday starting 8GMT!
After Slam defeated Hoang in the first episode, top players Zuppi and BacT will be duelling for the lions share of the $100 USD PrizePool and the right to challenge the previous champion.
This will be a best of 5, first game Arabia, followed by home maps of the loser until the winner is decided. We'll have a unique civ picking system that will guarantee no mirror matches, and hopefully provide some interesting matchups.
The games will be cast exclusively on my channel, twitch.tv/helichaos, with the players likely to also stream their POV.
See you there!

I’ve been playing with Germans as my 3rd civ lately and am trying to figure if there is a hotkey for training SWs at the Mill the way you can use hotkeys to train to train vills at TC and units at barracks, etc. Do I really have to click the SW button each time?
Also, am I right I can’t command the SW out of the mill in advance (eg by selecting mill and then right clicking a hunt)? So I have to go back to the mill to command the SW manually every time the SW pops out?
Seems like I shoulda picked France for my third civ...
If you chose to Go random instead of getting a random civ of the entire pool before the match you get to choose from 3 diferente random asigned civs.
So as an example, you select random, 3 civs pop up on a 10 sec timer, with a 4 option to go normal random.
This dosent need to Work in the current Yellow icon thing where both Go random.

While using cheats to look at the map, I noticed a sky passage in the middle of the map pic. The only way to access it is through a gate at the back of the greek base pic. You gain ownership of it if you get LOS. Anyone have ideas of how to make use of this without cheats? I thought of using a Caladria but you can't create your own myth units on this level.
I installed the game and the Tale of the Dragon DLC, but "aom_special_scenario.scn" is nowhere to be found in the "Load scenario" dropdown menu. Has anyone else experienced this or could offer advice?
I don’t see many people being too crazy about their knight line. I’d mostly use Hussars unless I have some heavy cavalry to kill.
On a side note, after a 2v2, I was shocked when someone asked “why don’t the Turks get Paladins?”? The Turkish army is already gold hungry and yet he wants to spend another whopping amount on such units?
Seriously I make an unranked room, saying "Make taunt noise" in the room name so I can leave DE in the background and do other stuff (getting alerted by taunt spam), only to come back once in a while to see chat messages of people writing "hi" or "can we start" etc.
Is it really so hard to respect that other player can't watch the room 24/7 and have other stuff to do?.
On Voobly you'd get a notification but that's the devs where smart enough to not implement that so we have to continue to suffer
Hi all, I'm currently having a love hate relationship with the map amazon tunnel. Every time this map is selected I know I'm up to a match of minimal 2 hours. the teams wall up, starting pushing but nothing really happens and in the end, one team breaks through the trees and then the game is over. Any ideas or suggestions to break the status quo instead of going through the trees? [link] [comments] |
I have a friend who always plays with India. I tried to turtle with Dutches and was destroyed easily. So I tried Ottoman and had better luck defending the huge number of offensive forces.
However, every single time he destroys me with the long range elephant cannons. He keeps them far and keep on attacking me while his normal forces hold hold me down. I tried the anti artillery cannons but they are just too slow to keep up with the elephants.
Any suggestions on how should I play against him? Until fortress age I always have much more resources than him before he clamp me down with those elephants.
Hey folks,
I recently transitioned my laptop over to Pop! OS, and have been attempting to play the game through Proton on Steam.
Unfortunately, even after ensuring drivers are up to date, that movies folders have been deleted, and that .dll file has been renamed, I am unable to get the game to go past the splash screen.
I've spent some time hunting the web for a fix and have been unable to find one. I'm hoping that someone would be able to assist me further? :)

The Montezuma classic!!
Hello and welcome back for another Age of Empires 2 civilization match up discussion! This is a series where we discuss the various advantages, disadvantages, and quirks found within the numerous match ups of the game. The goal is to collectively gain a deeper understanding of how two civilizations interact with each other in a variety of different settings. Feel free to ask questions, pose strategies, or provide insight on how the two civilizations in question interact with each other on any map type and game mode. This is not limited to 1v1 either. Feel free to discuss how the civilizations compare in team games as well! So long as you are talking about how the two civilizations interact, anything is fair game! Last week we discussed the Italians vs Mayans, and next up is the Aztecs vs Spanish!
Aztecs: Infantry and Monk civilization
Spanish: Gunpowder and Monk civilization
Below are some match up-specific talking points to get you all started. These are just to give people ideas, you do not need to address them specifically if you do not want to!
Thanks as always for participating! Next week we will continue our discussions with the Incas vs Portuguese. Hope to see you there! :)
