Hey guys I know this is a bit of a niche field and a narrow one, but I didn't know who to ask.
I met an adviser who seems he's willing to take me in and he does research in cosmology. I have never done research in this before, and I am diving in head first. One of the projects he has is control systems and using python to properly program a lot of the software such as cameras, CCD detectors etc.
The other is analysis and his post doc does more of that. That's going to be more about the post doc having time to train me and willing to put in the time.
Data Analysis is what I want to do and getting into the heart of the data. Previously I had 2-3 years in condensed matter research but my heart as always in astro and doing something with observational astro.
Anyone have any experience in cosmology and doing things on the observational front? Observational astroparticle research is also something I'm looking into but after reading upon research cosmology seems to interest me a bit more and it feels like the path I want to go on.
