Physics question: could magnetism work in waves like light?

I’ve been thinking about this for a long time and can’t get the idea out of my head that perhaps magnets work in waves, with different frequencies, amplitudes, etc.

If there is even a remote chance that this is possible, how would you go about learning everything needed to be able to prove it?
