Suggestion: Have the ping between you and other players, and the ping between each individual player and their max ping with other individual players.
So if someone has 90 ping with me in the US, but 350 ping with someone in China, it will say 90 (360).
Sometimes I can start a game when everyone ping is green but they are lagging with other players and I can't tell. People don't always communicate when they're lagging especially if they don't speak English or if they afk before the game starts.
Being able to outrange castles (Britons) or throw 40 arbalests and win against a castle (Mayans)?
Given that it's Easter, and I just watched this cool video, I think it's only fitting to mention some of the cool Easter Eggs in the game.
What cool/interesting Easter Eggs have you encountered while playing Age of Empires 2?
I've played on HD for a year or more. Every day I would load Age2 my computer would be on 1920x1080 with 100% scaling via font et cetera.
I tried for a long time to improve my resolution because the screen is just so damn small, and I've seen others with bigger screens.
Yesterday, with two anomalies: 1) Streaming on Twitch, and 2) switching from my TV at 19201080 to my computer monitor at 19201080 a freak event happened.
I loaded HDAge2 off of Steam and everything loaded normally only I noticed my in-game cursor was about 2-3x larger than normal. I went into lobby, played a game with other people and when the game started I was blown away. My game-screen, while full-screen like always, allowed me to see something like 3-4x more tile space and overall a FAR MORE ENJOYABLE AND COMPETITIVE EXPERIENCE. I don't know how, I don't know why, but it happened.
At various points in the day I closed AoE and reloaded and it still retained the improved resolution-game-size-screen. I think I even shut down steam and it was the same deal. But when I shut off my computer and woke up next day everything went back to normal.
I've tried for years to improve the resolution. I failed always. I came to believe that the game/computer/monitor I run was operating at 'max capacity'. Now somehow there is proof my computer/aoe off steam can support smoothly a larger game-resolution and yet I have no idea how to recreate it.
I've spent all day so far working on it, I tried StepS mod, and though the mod works, it caps me at 1920*1080 and maintains the small screen size. I've tried tweaking with system fonts, menubars, headers, icons. I've tried working with the scaling. I've tried reupdating my graphics card drive. I tried the new method for 4K-mod in the workshop.
I've exhausted my limited skill-set and knowledge base. THERE MUST BE A WAY TO SOLVE THIS BUT I DON'T KNOW HOW AND IT'S DRIVING ME CRAZY.
My normal resolution, that is very undesirable, is illustrated in this video, around 2hrs: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/244252894
The godsend freak resolution, which occurred yesterday, the day after the previous video is illustrated here: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/244871350

Specifically, trigger-heavy, in depth story campaigns like Ulio?
For those unfamiliar, the game is a conduit to tell a story, and while rich in dialogue and, imo, the peak of AoE visual experience, it replaces most economic strategy and macromanagement aspects of stock campaigns and RM style games an d heavily emphasized small-scale tactics and linear decision making that contributed to the storyline.
It's been a long time since these were really popular as far as I know, but I'd like to revisit some, and hopefully find a few new ones that people recommend. What am I missing out on?

I used to play this game like 10 years ago, and I noticed a ton of new expansions are out now.
Where do I get this game? I saw it on steam, but I have no desire to download an enirely separate program to do it (steam). If I were to get steam, install AOE2, and then uninstall Steam, would that let the program work?
Last time I bought a game it was on GOG and I needed no silly client software to do so, but they do not offer AOE2.
Is there somewhere to buy AOE2 where I can just download the game without needing 3rd party software for it?
thanks
for me celts, siege is good but it's not huge
woads i feel are also over hyped
Why are Malians classified as an infantry civ? It makes no sense even though their unique unit is classified as infantry and they have an infantry bonus. Other civs which are classified as something else have better infantry than them (Burmese come to mind). They should IMO be classified as a cavalry civ since their FU light cav are better in mass battles than even Mongol hussar. Their cavalier must be the best cavalier in the game without a doubt and their camels are excellent. What is it that is so good about their infantry? The extra pierce armor doesn't matter that much since they are still prone to being kited and they don't even have halbs or blast furnace. I get why they don't have blast furnace since that would make their cavalry broken as hell but there is nothing that stands out about their infantry.

Dusting off my copy of aoe2 recently, I am not ashamed to admit I am the noobiest of noobs and need a little practice...
Saw ZE Interactive Fast Castle Tutorial and thought it looked awesome as I really want to work on improving my early game economy management. However I am running an old T61 which doesn't always see eye-to-eye with a steam + win 10 combo. So I was wondering, are there any similar economic tutorials out there on the net?
I know there are sites like http://www.cysion.be/aocbox/?cat=6 which have boar hunting, deer luring etc, but was hoping for something with the focus on the fuller economic picture, like Zacks's IFC tutorial, rather than singular micro aspects of the game?
If anyone can help, I would deeply appreciate it. Thank you.
TL;DR Where can a player find non-steam, economic focused, training scenarios like ZE's Interactive Fast Castle Tutorial
A few years ago i used to play many scenarios on Gameranger. UDP Cliffs, Protect the One, Art of Defence (even made my own edit), Vampire Resurrection and more. I still got them saved on an old computer and i wonder if i could just drag them into the HD folder for scenarios? Or are there versions of them anywhere to get if that wouldn't work?
I am a very blunt individual who doesn't hold things back to hurt other's feelings, so i'm just going to be straight up and say I bought the game and am terribly disappointed.
Real talk; I feel the game is a complete cash grab that copies the age of empires game design down to the name of the upgrades and how the civilizations are designed to be played out. I understand age of empires was the inspiration but feel it's completely unprofessional to copy 80% of a game and resell it under the guise of "we're doing it for the fans".
In addition to this the minimalist graphics designs seem to be more the game trying to keep costs down then actually wanting to have the game have a certain type of look and feel.
The UI is clumsily designed and the animations don't feel very fluent.
TLDR: The game is complete shit in my opinion and more than likely a cash grab.
Disclaimer: All opinions in the text of this post are solely my opinion, I am not making any factual statements / claims about the game or developer. I advise you do your own research and form your own opinion.
I have had this question for a long time. Sometimes when I watch the pros play, I see them making the boar to freeze exactly at the TC and shoot it when the sheep vils finish eating the sheep. But when I try it, I couldn't get the boar stop at where I wanted it to. It goes back immediately after it loses track of my vil.
I guess the algorithm behind the scene is the same for deer. What triggers the animals to go back? Does anyone know?
Hi guys, who played this game (Age of Empires Definitive Edition), i sow it released on Windows Store ( https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/store/p/age-of-empires-definitive-edition )

I’ve been playing aoe for around 10 years but have only just started playing online on aoe2 hd, anyone got any tips? I find that some other players I come up against develop so quickly and I’m unable to catch up
I mean with no bonuses geared towards each other and bad synergy with one another...
Hello, I just got a quick question. When do you go on stone in arena if you want to drop a castle once you reach castle age?
Also what to do against scouts if i want to go monks after? Do you make spearman? Do i tek into Pikeman?
I really loved AoE2, but am looking for something like it in terms of medieval war and kings, kingdoms and armies. Strategy game as well like AoE2. Any recommendations?

How would you rank these themes and why?
Hi,
So I've been playing AOE2 for many years now. Mainly on Voobly but got AOE2:HD on Steam a while back. Pretty much only played CS maps but recently decided that it's finally time to learn the game properly.
Current rating is 1603 on Steam but I've only played a handful of matches so that's not very accurate.
Starting off by trying to learn build orders in 1v1 games but I feel playing regularly with someone around the same level will help massively in improving.
Just thought I'd ask around on the subreddit if anyone was interested.
So, getting tired of it. I literally seem to have a 50/50 split, even when I specifically ONLY play vs one with 80 ping or less.
Its always such a lag fest, and it ruins the fun of the game for me. No I dont lag myself, in fact I haven't had a ping above 100 MS in years ON MY END, and D/C not in 2 years+ (Yes lucky 2 places I lived now I guess).
But game still lags no matter my patience on waiting for right player to join.
And then also the silly troll and time wasters on AOE2 HD that waste my time as well. You know, there is a lot of down time to find that fun cool game that really pushed you.
...Cheers, veteran of AOE2. Played probably over 1000 online matches, mostly on AOE2 HD cause back when I was on voobly I also found it to be laggy, but maybe its better?
I was just searching for something on the internet, and i come across these classic video games of the late 90's. It brings me back all those good memories.
How many of you remember Quake 3 Arena? I spent literally countless hours on that game. It was the best one ever.
Then, came Unreal Tournament - The same goes for this too - countless hours of fun.
I then remember other games too - Oni, Revolt, Diablo, Midtown Madness, Doom, Motocross Madness, Monster Truck Madness, Tony Hawks Pro Skater, GTA Vice City & San Andreas, Age of Empires, Sims, Simcity, Max Payne, Project IGI, NFS, Road Rash, Mario, Tomb Raider, Mortal Kombat, Aladdin, Harry Potter, Half Life, FIFA, James Bond 007, Tekken, Baldur's Gate, MotoGP, Prince of Persia, The Mummy, and Hitman.
I only remember a few, and i literally had to google a few because i forgot the names.
Those were the best days, right?
What more games do you remember playing?

I am pure Arena player but I cant find any games with that map so I would like to learn Arabia and get it to same elo so I can at least practice the game itself. on Arena even voobly just being able to boom I could get 1500+ in 1v1 or 1650 in TG after very short time but I am not sure if I should create another account for Arabia because I played it few years ago. back then I was just 1700 on HD and all I could do was drush fc xbow and fc knights as pocket
I dont have much time to play so I would prefer some article or maybe even a video, no time to watch streams or records :/
Currently I am hosting games on Voobly with the WololoKingdoms patch and on patch 1.4 RC. I noticed there's a bug where you can have ships go across land, so I imagine there's probably an update or a different patch to use all together.
What is the most current patch, and how do I keep up with this in the future
Hi everyone i'm Dasso, the guy who posted some artworks i made some weeks ago. However, i decided to make something bigger, a giant map covering an entire city, as someone requested.
The problem is: do i have to take something like 100 screenshots and assembling them again or there's a trick? I already tried this https://coltenney.itch.io/aoe-full-map-capture and seems not working well.
If someone can help is welcome, thanks.
Note: i have to take the screenshot preferably into HD, due to graphic mods.

Default resources, any civ, any map type, no map revealed. Vs. AI or Humans, either is fine. I'm assuming there'll be plenty of Shang submissions.
Mine: Civ: Romans Time: 8:26 Map: Highland
I'm more of a custom/campaign player so my numbers aren't fantastic.
On another note, I'm pretty sure some of those Vietnamese tournament players have ridiculous times. Tool Rushes seem to be the way to go.
i dont know why but something about the way i place buildings combined with the shitty maps i always get causes me to run out of space for everything and make my units split up and get picked off one at a time, do i have a spatial intelligence deficiency

Just saving you the pain of reading through another new civ post 11
I've been thinking about a swiss civ. They are probably covered by Teutons (and to a lesser extend, Franks and Italians), ut anyway ;)
I'm not a history expert, but I've read a bit about swiss history, but the civ is also inspired by cliches traits of current switzerland.
They are mostly a foot soldier civ, which I think is historically about right. They excel at "soft skills for across the board".
Team bonus: Market Places 20% faster.
I'm actually surprised this hasnt been in the game yet (or I'm completely missing something obvious). Thought about giving them free coinage/banking because guess why, but that would probably be overpowered.
Crossbow/arbalest freee: Their most direct military bonus. Nod to Wilhelm Tell.
Military units +1 Line of Sight per age, starting in feudal age: Being ready in short time when needed is a long standing key doctrine of swiss military. Not sure if this is strong or weak.
Cows Sheep decay 50% slower: To represent milking cows. Mainly because cows, cheese and a patient waste-nothing lifestyle are also one aspect of traditional swiss lifestyle. Might be weak as an eco bonus on its own, not sure. If this is the case, it could be extended to other animals.
Siege towers 50% cheaper: Not really historically justified, but a) I almost never see siege towers used, b) felt the civ could have another small bonus and c) it fits the foot units theme.
Unique Unit: Reisläufer. Above-average-armored Infantry unit with small bonuses against both infantry and cavalry: During the middle ages, Swiss mercenaries, also known as "Reisläufer" took part in wars all over europe (actually, I'm not sure how often they fought for Switzerland itself). Fights with a halberd; pictures suggest they could have looked similarly colorful as the swiss guard of the vatican. Regarding stats, I would give them stats comparable to other infantry UUs, but maybe 2/1 armor (3/2 elite) and a +3 bonus against infantry (+4 elite), and +8 (+10) against cavalry. Definitely higher than average gold cost, fitting the mercenary theme. Maybe 50f/50g? I'm not skilled enough to figure out what would be justified, so feel free to make suggestions.
Unique Tech (Castle age): Enclosed formation: All units gain +1 hidden armor against whatever armor class they have: Apparently the swiss were very adept at choosing the right battlefields and formations to get the most out of their soldiers/militia. I'm not sure how to represent this, and there wasnt a catchy name I found, so that's what I came up with. This tech is what I'm the most unsure about, as Halberdiers with +1 spearman armor could be huge. On the other hand, this is the only direct in fight bonus this civ would have, and they would still be worse against ranged units than malians halbs. Cost TBD.
Unique Tech (Imperial age:) Gewaltmarsch: All umounted land units, including monks and villagers, but not siege units, move 5% faster. The forced march (Gewaltmarsch) has apparently been a popular tactics from swiss armies/mercenaries, with the goal of reaching the enemy by surprise before he could set up his formation. Also serves as a minor eco bonus for lategame. Cost agan TBD.
Units available:
Barracks: No eagles.
Archery range: No heavy cavalry archer, parthian tactics.
Stable: No hussar, paladin (it wouldnt fit the swiss society in the middle ages I think), camels, battle elephants, bloodlines.
Castle: Everything available.
Siege workshop: No heavy scorps, siege onager.
Dock: No heavy demo ship, elite cannon galleon, Dy dock, shipwright. (As they are surely no naval civ, I though about taking away Galleon).
Monastery: No atonement, illumination, theocracy.
Blacksmith: Everything available.
Market: Everything available.
University: No heated shot, bombard tower.
Economy: No Crop rotation, no gold shaft mining (I exptected there would be gold mining in the alps, but I found less information than I expected. While Crop rotation was apparently well establised, the lack of the technology is meant to represent the relative difficulty of agriculture in high mountains).
So what are your opinions?
So, a bit of background- I've owned the HD edition for a year or so now, but only recently have I actually sat down to play it, and have really enjoyed it! Bit of a steep learning curve for someone not really into RTS games prior to this, but I'm slowly getting better and have managed to beat the Moderate AI a few times.
Problem is, though, I play mostly with my friend, who has all the DLCs and usually sets up games with those settings. I don't have any of them, so I can't do Megarandom or play any civs in multiplayer beyond the daily rotation. He says they go on sale for like one or two bucks all the time, but it seems like the last time that happened was the Steam Winter Sale. Is there anywhere currently I can find some of the DLC for cheaper than their current ten bucks apiece, or when do you expect the next sale will hit?
I would like to make the mouse pointer more visible. I've noticed that sometimes the mouse pointer isn't even accurate. For example the tip of the AOEII MP is positioned behind the wall, but instead when clicked at the position it attacks the wall. Which screws up the unit pathing (WTF). Sometimes, the Hand pointer blends in with desert environment=/. I've tried using NormalMouse via steam startup, that doesn't work. I've tried googling AOEII mouse pointer mod. Nothing :((

Samurai and Ashigaru Musketeers are both heavy infatry, counter cavalry, and good siege damage. So it seems like you'd probably only need one. It seems like musketeers get a much better upgrade card, (Hp and damage vs 10% speed and price increase) and get 2 extra upgrades from a wonder and arsenal (if dutch allies), is there an advantage to using samurai as your heavy infantry?
I can't think of a witty one-liner for this one grassSad
Hello and welcome back for another Age of Empires 2 civilization match up discussion! This is a series where we discuss the various advantages, disadvantages, and quirks found within the numerous match ups of the game. The goal is to collectively gain a deeper understanding of how two civilizations interact with each other in a variety of different settings. Feel free to ask questions, pose strategies, or provide insight on how the two civilizations in question interact with each other on any map type and game mode. This is not limited to 1v1 either. Feel free to discuss how the civilizations compare in team games as well! So long as you are talking about how the two civilizations interact, anything is fair game! Last week we discussed the Franks vs Mayans, and next up is the Celts vs Italians!
Celts: InfantryandSiege civilization
TEAM BONUS: Siege Workshops work 20% faster
Unique Unit: Woad Raider (Pajama-clad, fast moving infantry)
Castle Ague Unique Tech: Stronghold (Castles and Towers fire 25% faster)
Imperial Age Unique Tech: Furor Celtica (Siege Workshop units have +40% hp)
Italians: Archer and Naval civilization
TEAM BONUS: Condotierro available in the Imperial Age
Unique Unit: Genoese Crossbowman (Foot archer with attack bonus vs cavalry)
Castle Age Unique Tech: Pavise (+1/+1 armor for archer-line and Genoese xbows)
Imperial Age Unique Tech: Silk Road (Trade units cost -50%)
Below are some match up-specific talking points to get you all started. These are just to give people ideas, you do not need to address them specifically if you do not want to!
Thank you as always for participating! Next week we will look at the Goths vs Malay. Hope to see you there! :)
I seem to drop 1 every 10 games and wanted to know if theres a way I can re-Join them?
AOE Definitive Edition??
Thanks :)
I can think of Le Loi campaign. Are there anything else?
I shall preface this idea by saying that I am not a historian, and am only aiming for a similar level of historical accuracy that is found in the game currently. I have focussed on achieving a degree of uniqueness for this civ, whilst doing my best to make the bonuses feel "AoE2'ey", and making the civ as balanced as I could in a variety of map styles and against a variety of units. I'd like to thank u/ChuKoNoob for his invaluable assistance in balancing and finding all the silly mistakes I made, your help and attitude is much appreciated.
If there is any way I can format my design so that it is clearer to follow, please let me know. Enjoy!

We already have hills with extra range and attack. What about other effects like foot soldiers move slower in sand/shallows or camels move faster in sand. I really liked the cracked land causing damage to buildings in African kingdoms. That was cool.
We talk a lot about civ geography here, but given the existence of monks in the game, I think it is relevant to talk about what religion(s) each civ historically followed.
Here's what I think, feel free to correct if necessary.
Britons: Catholicism --> Anglican
Byzantines: Eastern Orthodox?
Celts: No clue
Chinese: Buddhism
Franks: Catholicism
Goths: Atheism
Japanese: Buddhism
Mongols: Buddhism?
Persians: Islam?
Saracens: Islam
Teutons: Catholicism
Turks: Islam
Vikings: Atheism?
Aztecs: Tribal?
Huns: Atheism
Koreans: Buddhism?
Mayans: Tribal?
Spanish: Catholicism
Incas: Tribal?

Slavs: Eastern Orthodox
Berbers: Islam?
Ethiopians: Tribal?
Malians: Tribal?

The civs I am most confused about are Magyars and Celts, but there are still a lot of uncertainties. Let's discuss.
i am not giving it away for free but i will give a deal add me to discuss it https://steamcommunity.com/id/maggykarp/
Gonna switch to wk on voobly since nowadays its 80% wk. My pc(which is old) windows 7, 32 bit, has 4gram and a speed of 2.60GHz, graphics card of intel(R) G41 Express chipset, processor as Pentium(R) Dual-core CPU E5300(tell me if i missed anything). I know theres recommended specs out there, but just for a relief, are these good enough, mainly for the game to run and operate smoothy?
expansions included
hello. I have a campaign file that I made about 10 years ago and I tried to extract scenarios from the file but I failed. I attach the file below.
https://drive.google.com/open?id=17ouVhJlsKm4G5V-VtsDjSBqs-bv40V_k
This campaign includes 6 scenarios and I think the last scenario was corrupted because when I try to play that scenario, the game crushes immediately in 1.0c, and nothing happens except 'bad string length' message in HD edition. (other 5 scenarios works well)
I also tried using "Campaign Manager" program and other scenarios I made were extracted well but this file didn't work at all with 'stream read error' message. and when I tried to modify in HD edition, file error 23 occurs and I couldn't load all the scenarios. (this error seems to language problem)
Can I extract the last scneario from this file? (or just play it) and is there any problems because this campaign wasn't made in English? (the scenario titles are not English)

I'm looking for a tower-defense like strategy game, any recommendations would be appreciated.
I joined the aoe2 community a few years after the Conquerors expansion came out and playing Huns, Aztecs and Mayans on Arabia was the norm. So my question to the members of the sub who’ve been in for the haul is, what was the game like when the 31 were still 13? What were the most fun strats? Which strats made you rage quit? What was the meta like? And most importantly, which unit would Lord Daut micro into town centres?
So I just read a few things about the Age1 Editor on the Heavengames website, but I wonder, do they all apply to DE as well?
How do I disable the grid, so that I can place things like tree stumps rocks etc freely?
I've read that you can make the ai change diplomacy at a certain part of the match how?
Any other tips what you can do with the editor?
I am coming over from Age 2 and I really want to try out new things with this editor, but so far, I just was not able to pull that off.. Ty for helping me! :)
What do you guys think of the MembTV Building Structure Mods?
I somehow like them but it needs time to get used to it.
I'd like to try them out myself, is there, by chance, someone here who has the linkd to the mods?
Hi all, I just want to say that DE version looks extremely gorgeous. Been playing the Rise of Rome demo since I was in 4th grade and I've been a big fan of converting Roman catapults (Carthage doesn't get Catapult upgrade). Can the developers comment on the differences between the statistical models used to determine the probability of successful conversions in the OG aoe and DE aoe?
In my opinion it feels different and I'm not having too much success converting units. Also I used to use 2 priests for ranged units so they get "confused" and don't attack at all. What was the reasoning for removing this legendary and fun feature?
What unit really gets your attention? This could be for aesthetic and/or practical reasons. I've always loved the Scythe Chariot unit - it had a fantastic model in RoR and had excellent stats for a trash unit.
It makes me wonder what would happen if they had upgrades for the Club/Axe man line and Slinger line. (i.e. Bronze Axe man, Javelin Thrower).
Hi guys,
Spirit of the bugs here. I usually play in gameranger, and i havent had before any firewall-ports-related issues until now.
Since some days ago, every time i play in a multiplayer game with new map, game gives me this message "you havent received files so you cant start game etc..".
The thing is if i place that map manually i can green up and start the game, otherwise i cant. My firewall is disabled.
what can i do guys?
So I come here today, humbly, to ask all of you fine members of this society, do our interests in this game all share the same roots? Aoe, in my opinion, seems to coerce a very select group of like-minded individuals into it's grasp. I've been obsessed for going on 4 years. Though i only have 1000 hours, it is easily my most played game by a land slide.
I wanted to ask all of you, because I don't quite get it, why do we all keep playing this game?? Or more specifically, why do YOU keep playing this game?
This might just be true for me, but i doubt it is considering the similarity of aoe fans. I've always had a passion for the medieval way of life, a simpler life, where the complexities of the current world are non-existent, diminished by the ongoing challenge to survive. Then, as i got older, the battles and the war caught my interest entirely. Aoe was perfect to satisfy this urge for real time war and strategy, and so it has stuck.
Is it the same for all of you my friends? Do we all continually return to this game because of our passion for the medieval or do some of you live the strategy obsession? Could it just be the game for some of you?
I really find this interesting because i feel that there's something more to the cult group of people who exclusively play aoe2. Something that binds us all, a common factor which pulls us back to the game time and time again.
I was wondering at which elo level (HD version) are civ advantages too important to ignore. Like you can have the best eco bonus from all civs but if you are messing up your economy you are screwed either way. At least on my level right now.

How do I do? I've heard it mentioned on this subreddit, but how? Do I just attack enemies resources or what?
*JAN-is-sary *juh-NISS-ary I hear it the second way all the time and it has annoyed me because I say it the first way. What's correct?

I played a lot against the barbarian AI lately and became curious regarding the best method to stop a boar steal attempt. Barbarian tries to lame every other game, so it's great practice in that regard. Blocking the boar doesn't seem to do much, because the AI will just slow down its own scout accordingly. Is it generally best to block the enemy scout to let the boar catch up or just smack the scout until it dies?
...please can someone tell me which civilisation I should play to counter her?
Title.
It looks like
Attack 8+2 (5)
And increases with more units.
I used to play this game a shit ton like 5 or 6 years ago, thinking of rebuying it on steam, do people still play online? Is it worth the (I think) 30 dollars? It was so addicting....... :(
I've heard a lot of streamers mispronounce this, and every time I die a little. Cavalry means mounted units, Calvary is where Jesus was crucified...
7th Generation AMD A6-9200 Processor with Radeon™ R4 Graphics Integrated graphics with AMD APU.
I know AOE is an old game etc, but I've read some people have had issues with the HD version. Also, I like to play long games so that's why I ask.

Roadmap
Hey guys, I can spend 100s of hours building a neatly looking city in Age of Empires 1. But that's not really what the game is designed for. Any suggestions?
