Taunt Mods Help Please

I've subscribed to multiple taunt mods within the aoe2:de mod system and tried using them in game. The number shows up and the name of the taunt is listed in the audio menu but whenever i try to play them a generic "bing" is played instead. Is there something wrong with what I am doing or do I need some application downloaded on my computer that I may not have? (given that this computer is my first pc build and I don't have some things downloaded)
