Questions regarding Archer Rush

Hi:

I've got some questions regarding the archer rush, mainly regarding how to combat different strats:

1. How to counter a scout rush?
   1. Do I build some archers+pikes and just go castle?
   2. I've read that with good micro, archers > scouts, is that true?
   3. If so, should I go on the offensive if I manage to get good micro?
2. How to counter an archer rush, just build some spears?

For reference, I am at 1100 ELO and I manage to get A+ on the interactive build order. Any advice on how to improve from here on is very welcome.
