Alternative strategy games to this game to disconnect from AoE2?

Hi there. I'm not very experienced in the world of strategy games, beyond AoE, but I was considering trying out something different, to disconnect from AoE2 for a while.

I've been hearing good things about HOI4, EU4 and CK3, but I've also heard that many AoE players don't like these games, so idk.

I've mostly played AoE 2, but I've also played AoM, AoE1 and AOE3 (never really liked the latter, though). Besides the Age games, I've played Starcraft... and Risk, if that even counts.

I haven't really played any other RTS. The closest thing would be the old citybuilding games like Pharaoh, Caesar, Emperor, etc... which I still enjoy to this day.

Any suggestions? Experiences with the games mentiones or other recommendations? Would appreciate some imput from fellow AoE2 fans, which is why I'm asking here (sorry for this off-topic thread). Thanks.
