Has there ever been / would you like to see a Ryder Cup style event for AOE2?

For those not interested in golf, the Ryder Cup is a team golf match where Europe take on the USA. On days one and two the games are played in pairs and on the final day the matches are individual but still contribute to the team score.

It got me thinking that this mix of team and individual matches would be a fun format for a 4 player team event in the pro AOE2 scene. For example it could be:

Game 1 - 4 v 4
Game 2&3 - 2 v 2
Games 4-7 - 1 v 1

(each player plays in the 4v4, one 2v2 and one 1v1)

Not only would this give variety to the viewer, but it would also spice up 1 v 1 a bit adding pressure as they'd be playing for the team. It would also be fun to see strategies on who plays in which games; would you put your best player out first or last?

Pushing it to it's limit you could even find the best all round team by having 4v4 nomad, 2v2 Regicide fortress, 2v2 aggressive map, 1v1 arena, 1v1 DM, 1v1 EW, and 1v1 Arabia which would make choosing the player for each game even more tactical.

P.s. On a related note, USA vs Europe obviously wouldn't be a competitive fixture, but I'd be far more interested in Nili & Memb captaining Europe vs T90 and Dave's North & South America than the real Ryder Cup; the teams could be pretty balanced for that. It would be especially fun if one captain from each side co-casted in a blatantly partisan manner.
