Decent math background, can I skip classical mechanics?

A bit about myself - I'm a mathematics student with a good background in math - vector calculus with greens, stokes, Gauss, as well as coursework in real analysis and abstract algebra and set theory.. I'm interested in quantum mechanics, but admittedly don't know much about physics, but I am comfortable with abstraction. I will be auditing a classic mechanics lecture, however.

Is classical mechanics a strict prerequisite?
