Imagine this,
A commercial district street of 1KM (0.6 miles) with a green synthetic fabric covering above the street, 10m high/32ft high, suspended by the buildings on each side.
And considering the cloth used has really loose fabric to make the light and the wind pass by it (maybe 1mm holes or bigger).
would the fabric make the commercial street a hot place or a cool place? the fabric could work either way for me as I am not an engineer.
Would this system trap the hot air making it hotter in the sun? or cooler by making the air flow as the cloth instead of the road underneath become hot, (plus, a small air movement by letting the hot air go up, pulling the air under this said cloth).
I am interested, it could an interesting design in hot places like Brazil, we really need some solution to this.
