When to move out of the new player lobby?

Hi. I've only played 48 games in the NPL so I'm thinking ahead here, but I've reached 1357 elo which seems to be within a few points of the top players in the lobby. I still make tonnes of mistakes but even still I've won 33 games and I don't want to be one of these guys with 1k games in the NPL.

How many games did you play before you moved from the NPL, and was there much of a step up in skill? And do people use the intermediate ladder or is it straight from the bottom to the top?
