How do you quickwall in DE with shift queue enabled?

I think quickwalling may be the last thing I have to figure out to fully adjust to playing DE instead of HD. My trouble is that I used to hold shift to place multiple palisades in quick succession, but now that just enables the queue and the villager won’t change from one to build the next until the first palisade is done. The fastest I have found so far is just using hotkeys to individually place each palisade, but it's just so much slower than holding shift used to be in HD. Is there a way to do lightning fast quick walls with shift queue enabled? I don't want to turn off shift queue because I find it saves a lot of time and gives overall better control of villagers.
