Burgundians are going to be a good slinging civ, since their eco upgrades are available 1 age earlier.

It's a popular strategy for 1 player on a team to advance to feudal and then send their extra resources to their ally.

Bergundians will have an advantage here because they have:

  • Coinage available in Feudal Age (reduces the cost of sending tribute)

  • the 2nd wood upgrade (the best "bang for your buck" upgrade - pays itself off quickly)

  • hand cart and heavy plow (they improve farming, although the payoff takes a bit longer)

  • gillnets could be very useful if there are ponds (a way to make more eco units without more TCs; fish traps can be quite good value)

  • caravan could be situationally useful (another way to make more eco units without more TCs, although they are quite expensive)

You would expect Burgundians to go Castle Age (since they currently have knights which return 50% of their gold cost when they die - a good bonus), but this could be a good surprise strategy (maybe in 3v3s or 4v4s).
