Late night players more aggressive?

So I live in the UK and have an Elo that floats between 1200-1300. Is it just me, or do other people find that during the daytime (afternoon GMT) players are more inclined to be passive and rigid, but past 22:00 or so it's like a switch is flipped and players suddenly become much meaner is how they try to annoy with their scout and commit to Feudal armies, making the game less standard and messier. For my ELO this kind of play is typically uncommon because players also typically lose to it due to difficulty adapting thus those who use it should be carried up. Any idea what's up with the phenomenon? Are players from certain regions just vicious?
