Definitive edition: Most recent version of a saved game doesn't load

My computer occasionally glitches out of the game for no reason, which is a huge pain but I've just been saving constantly to get around it. I had nearly finished one of the campaign levels when it did this again, I thought I'd be fine because I happened to have saved thirty seconds before that. However the save file it shows in the saves menu now is a version of it from a few days ago when I started the level. Opening the saved files folder lists the level as being modified at the time I had saved it today, but I can't work out anyway to access that version. I'll be super bummed out if I have to do the whole level again, any got any ideas on how I can fix this?
