I want to get better

Hello folks I play age 2 since 2005, but i never won a random map past the moderate level In the original one i did all the campaigns on hard (1+ hours of gameplay, never a quick one),and used to won a match here and there, but nowadays i lost evey time i play vs the ai on the HD version, and i am getting very frustrated. So, do you guys have tips and hints for me? I want to be good in the game of my childhood

( btw, i not bad at other rts games, i can win in the hardest difficulty on AoM and AoE3)
