The biggestproblem in aoe2:

EVERY DAR AGE IS THE SAME, GIVE OR TAKE MILITIA.

my recomendations?

introduce a kennel for attack dogs,

make hunting more interesting

make inf faster and ranged units less op.

give villagers more to hide behind, mae outposts garrisonable and fire some arrows.

INtroduce Native American civ, who can cause wildlife to draw themevles toward somelocation (like a mill or something).

For the late game, makeit so trees can regrow given time.

INtorduce differnt and cool new dimensions of the units : INroduce new upgrades for cavalry lke archers have, but nerf them as well (-20 hp for knghits, but add a second bloodlins tech, and anew technology called 'Ransom' which alows a chance for Knights to respawn at your castle. Ransom shold be researched at either the caslte or at the monastery. Knights shold be seen as specal units - and they all should be.

aARchers should be balnced - More atk but less fire rate so a skilled micro maanger can infilcit more dmg, bt someone who is away fromthe battle willbe punished.

Give cavry some ration speed so they mus be maneuevered. Camels should not have as great of an atk bonus against cavlry, but instead shold all health regen to symobilze the care they take to store water.

A new unit called the Lancer should be added - similar to the Kamayuk, but in a cavlary uit which has a +atk vs other cav. A light Lancer should also be inluded with a narrower rotation curve to at.

Aztecs should have a new technology called 'death whistle' which will cause mons t oauto convert, but garldand wars shold be nerfed to ust afact jaguar warriors an eagle warriors.

Expand the tech treesof all civs by addingh new technologies with widely varying effects(maybe even a reason to use celtic crossbowmen.) For, example, add the Normans through the Viings. Cause players to have to choose which ind of army and civilzation they are trying to forge.

Piemen should be kept separate from halberds. Halberds shold be effective short range atk vs both inf and cav, but should cost gold and hav a shorter reach than PIkemen units.

Celts should have Highlanders technology which gives woad raiders +4 atk against other infantry and a unique pikeman calle the Schilltron.

Scots-Gaelic and Sogdian should be language options in aoe wiith their respective Ogham and Futhark alphabets.
