Ive been playing aoe2 sense I was literally 3 years old and have been watching competitive for the past like 5 years almost but i finally got into playing competitive on steam for maybe the past like 2-3 months and its been a blast especially sense they have realized all these new civs. Ive decided to one trick slavs at the moment so i dont have to constantly learn new civs and focus on slowly developing a solid key binding setup and focus on game mechanics. For the most part i feel like im an okay player. I peaked at 1760 before tilting and going back to 1715. For the most part i do a solid job in dark age and feudel age but i start struggling in castle if i dont build a decent lead and most games ill lose in post imp if i do lose. I was wondering if anyone could give me a good detailed build order to use all the way till imp. Of corse i know that you shouldnt always focus on build order and learn to adapt as the game goes but id like something to base my play off of.
Most of my games look like this.
Dark age is super standard I scout for my resources look for my enemy and go up on 21 pop building my barracks with one villager at the 60% mark on my age up. Ill usually have like 5-6 on wood and the rest on food.
Feudel age i build a stable right away and look for my lumber and mill upgrades to transition into an efficient farm eco. Ill train 3 scouts then start my aggression. my goal is to us the slavs farm bonus to get a good eco to go up to castle but start out with scouts to get map control. If i can extend feudel age for both of us i try to do so. After the initial 4 scouts ill build a blacksmith for my secondary fuedel building and look for upgrades at this point i start sending villagers to gold. Then look for castle age
Castle age i go into double stable knight production and a second TC immedietly as i feel i can produce from two tcs and two stables due too my farms. This is the point where i get kind of lost and dont really have any idea on what I should be doing as i usually try to get aggresive during early castle and boom hard as soon as i can afford my third TC.
Imp age if it gets this farm i look for cav upgrade for an immediate power spike then look to transition into seige units and maybe champs but its can get kind of messy. Ill tech switch to what i need depending on waht my opponent is going
Post imp if it gets to this point im really just spamming pikes and skirms for defense and spamming scouts into the eco and hopefully they run out fo gold before i do its really just a cluster fuck
