Things in aoe2 I dont like

I have been playing a bit online after... 17 years I think? And now that I am older and more critical there are a few things that really bother me: (aside from lags and everyone else being better than me)

1. Trebuchets ruin the game, mostly by making castles and towers useless.
2. High pop games - 200 or even more are not really that fun. 200 pop doesnt mean more options, doesnt expand the game, doesnt need more skills to play, its just more clicking, more TCs, more vils, more farms, more barracks/whatever and more unit spam.

This is not an angry rant, I would seriously like to hear some other peoples opinions. I tried googling these things and got no relevant results, which makes me wonder if I am the only person who thinks this.
