Online issues fixed?

Hi,

Just switched back from Mac to windows and I really wanna get back into playing the old school games online. Would it be worth it to buy the steam version just to play online or is it riddled with deconnection issues?

I loved norse wars, trojan wall and the general pvp 1v1 :)
